Overview
Khlifa Lagraa is an Algerian comedy film set at the turn of the twentieth century. Young Khlifa, left bald by a ringworm infection, exploits his condition to gain free access to women's private spaces as a trusted courier and messenger — a role that grants him unique social privileges in a strictly segregated society. When his hair unexpectedly begins to grow back, his comfortable world collapses and he faces expulsion from the circles he has come to rely on. Desperate, he turns to his boss, the diviner Boubaker, and makes an unlikely request: to have his illness restored.
