Just to Let You Know That I'm Alive is a documentary that tells the story of the Sahrawi people through the voices of women who have survived and borne witness to grave human rights abuses in Western Sahara — a region south of Morocco whose political status remains unresolved. Enforced disappearances, torture, secret prisons, mass graves, and the absence of any justice form the backdrop of this largely forgotten history. Through testimonies, personal diaries, and old photographs, the film reconstructs four decades of Sahrawi history from a female and intimate perspective, both within Western Sahara and in the refugee camps of Algeria. A deeply moving and politically significant documentary that gives voice to the silenced.
