Amina's Dream (Hulm Amina) is an Arabic comic stage production built on a playfully absurd premise: a mysterious new virus that targets women over the age of forty-five. At the center of the story is Amina, whose life is upended by this bizarre health scare, and whose family must come to terms with what it means for all of them. Each family member's reaction reveals their personality, fears, and expectations in ways that generate both laughter and gentle social commentary. Without resorting to mean-spiritedness, the play uses its fantastical premise to explore attitudes toward women, aging, and societal pressures with wit and warmth.
