Overview

Fasulya is a Syrian satirical comedy series set within a company called Tara Tara, where the daily absurdities of office life collide with the contradictions of the wider Arab world. When a famous Turkish actor visits the company, the female employees eagerly rush to be photographed with him — even as they seethe over news that Turkey is building a dam that will block Syria's share of the Euphrates River. Meanwhile, the company's manager attempts to bribe a tax inspector, only to be rebuffed because the bribe is too small. Fasulya uses its workplace setting and ensemble cast to deliver sharp, character-driven comedy that skewers hypocrisy, politics, and human nature with a light but incisive touch.
