Goblins District is an Algerian comedy-thriller following Belkacem, a retiree content with his simple routine of mosque, café, and pétanque. His peaceful life is upended when he is persuaded to get a driver's license and purchase a used car — only to discover it has been stolen. Suddenly thrust into a dangerous whirlwind of confrontations and threats, Belkacem must navigate peril entirely on his own. The film blends genuine suspense with sharp comic sensibility, anchored by an endearing everyday protagonist in over his head.
