Overview

Europa is a short film of quiet emotional power following Lubna, a ten-year-old girl who has fled war and arrived in Paris as a refugee. In this new city, her child's imagination transforms the world around her — she sees whales drifting above the Eiffel Tower — while she silently carries the hope that her parents will one day find their way to her. The film delicately balances the wonder of a child's interior world against the harsh reality of displacement, delivering a poetic and restrained portrait of longing, loss, and the refugee experience.
