Overview

In Pieces is an intimate documentary portrait by Moroccan filmmaker Belabbes, assembled from footage gathered over more than a decade spent documenting his own family. An eccentric and singular voice in Moroccan cinema, Belabbes crafts a poetic chronicle that follows the passage of time across generations, examining how — or whether — sweeping social and political changes have touched one modest family's daily life. Narrated in a fluid blend of first-person singular and plural, the film moves gracefully between fiction and nonfiction, emerging as a lyrical meditation on memory, heritage, and the quiet persistence of the everyday.
