At a glance

The Lump, is a 2021 Lebanese movie, directed by Rouba Noureddine. with a runtime of 4 minutes.

Overview

The Lump is a contemplative short film that finds its protagonist Nour lying alone in the hollow emptiness of her basement, her mind drifting deep into one of her most intimate personal experiences. Minimal in setting but rich in interiority, the film uses the contrast between the bare physical space and the density of Nour's inner world to explore the relationship between body, memory, and private experience. A quietly daring piece of Arabic short cinema, The Lump offers a meditative portrait of a woman in the act of remembering — and the strange vulnerability of allowing oneself to revisit moments kept close.
