Overview

Al-Sit is a Sudanese drama film set in a rural cotton-farming village, where the life of fifteen-year-old Nafisa takes center stage. Confronted with an arranged marriage she did not choose, Nafisa faces a question at the heart of the film: does she have any say in her own fate? A pointed and intimate social drama, Al-Sit examines the forces of tradition, patriarchy, and community expectation that shape and constrain the lives of young women in rural Sudan, asking whether personal agency can survive in a world of arranged destinies.
