Overview

Arrakass is an Algerian drama-comedy film that follows Abbas, a retired postman who has spent a lifetime causing harm without remorse, until a fatal accident lands him on death row. The night before his execution, a ghost appears in his cell with an unusual offer: 24 hours of freedom in exchange for reconciling with everyone he has wronged. What follows is a darkly comic and morally charged journey through Abbas's past, as he races against time to undo a lifetime of damage. The film uses its fantastical premise to explore questions of guilt, redemption, and the possibility — or impossibility — of making things right before the clock runs out.
