Overview

Mosul is a Netflix Arabic-language action war film following a young Iraqi police officer who joins the elite Nineveh SWAT unit after its members save his life in the ruins of ISIS-held territory. The squad — every member of which has lost family and home to the brutal occupation — fights not on orders but out of grief, duty and an unshakeable determination to reclaim their city. Set during the real battle to liberate Mosul from ISIS, the film places Arabic-speaking characters at the center of a story usually told from the outside, offering a gritty, emotionally grounded portrait of sacrifice and brotherhood in one of the most significant urban battles of the modern era.
