Overview

Ajeeb wa Ghareeb is a contemplative documentary short by filmmaker Zubayr Hossain, chronicling a two-day visit to Madha — the remarkable UAE enclave situated within Omani territory, itself containing a smaller Omani exclave within it. Hossain captures his journey using iPhone footage, handheld camera work, and ambient field recordings, weaving the material into a layered tapestry of visuals and sounds that reflect the unique, quietly surreal character of this geographic anomaly. The result is an intimate and meditative portrait of a place as unusual as its name suggests.
