
An Egyptian author and writer who writes short stories, novels, plays, children’s literature, and screenplays. His stories have been translated into English and Yugoslavian and he has won a number of awards, including: - First prize and gold medal for the novel: “Awake, O Sleeper” from the Story Club in 1974. - And the first prize for the play: “Brides - in the colloquial language - from the National Center for Egyptian Theater in 1983. - Mahmoud Taymour Award for Short Story (Supreme Council of Culture - Ministry of Culture - 1993), - The State Encouragement Award in Literature and the Medal of Sciences and Arts from the Supreme Council of Culture for the short story collection: “It Emerges” in 1994. The writer Salah Abdel Sayed combined more than one of the arts of literary writing, as he published novels, plays, and stories, including (The Corpse, Strangeness, Struggle, Bird, The Dove Girl, and in the novel he published “Tales of the Arbid,” “The Wall”) and in theater he published “The Man Who Was Divided” and “The Bats.”
