He began early to experiment with acting at Mar Mohra School, where he did not complete his studies, but rather entered life as a man when he was young, so he practiced barbering and began his journey with art in 1943 through the Nahda Art Troupe and then through the Institute of Arts. He founded the Cedar Artistic Troupe with his companions Michel Tamer and George Qahi in 1966 to present the theatrical work The Lost Lover and other plays. Then it turned into a troupe interested in cinema, where in 1975 it presented the film “Agony of Conscience” and several films in which Michel Thabet participated as an administrator. He then left the group to work in the barber profession in addition to makeup for films, without his presence being affected as a promising actor with a distinguished energy, charisma and strength sufficient to consolidate his image in theatre, cinema and television, where he appeared in 1978 in his first dramatic work, “The Artistic Director,” directed by Elias Matta. In his artistic career, he has approximately 2,600 television episodes, 40 cinematic films, 2,000 dubbing episodes, and many plays. Thabet also played a major role in union work, as he assumed the duties of president of the Syndicate of Theater, Cinema, Radio and Television Actors in Lebanon for a long period.
