A Saudi director, Sindi graduated from Valparaiso University and has extensive experience in cinematography, production, direction, and editing. He worked on many award-winning films, including “Horeya and Ain,” which won the Best Arab Short Narrative Film Award at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, and “Where Are You?” Which won the Best Arabic Narrative Short Film Award at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in 2011, and the film “Omar’s Night,” which came in third place in the Documentary Film Competition at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. The creative producer also founded the Saudi production company, Seventh Dream Films. His film “Faten Drives Me Crazy” was selected from a group of Arab films shown at a special “Film Society” event at Lincoln Center in New York in cooperation with the Dubai Film Festival during the period from 24 to 29 August 2012 as part of the initiative: (New Arab Cinema). The film deals with the issue of Saudi women driving cars from the perspective of the film’s heroine, “Faten,” who decided to drive the car in the streets of Jeddah after she was fed up with her husband’s procrastination in bringing home needs. The film represented Saudi cinema at the Gulf Film Festival, and was also shown in Riyadh at the King Fahd Cultural Center.
