Madeleine Matar

She was born in Beirut to a Christian family. She studied oriental singing at the National Higher Institute of Music in Lebanon. The late great artist Wadih Al-Safi listened to her voice and was impressed by her voice. He took her with him to London to participate with him in one of the charity concerts for the Lebanese community in London. She achieved great success in this concert and the newspapers praised her, which encouraged her to pursue singing professionally.
