
Lebanese actress and singer, Laila Iskandar, was born in Beirut on August 23, 1984. She completed her graduate studies in the field of marketing and advertising at the Lebanese University and obtained a degree in acting and theater directing. Her first artistic steps emerged at the age of sixteen, when she won the gold medal in the category of the ancient oriental song “Arabic Tarab” in the “Studio Al Fan” program. ... In 2004, Laila participated in the Star Academy program in its first session in the Middle East. The following year, she played the lead role as an actress and singer in the play “Insan” and participated with Kuwaiti artist Nabil Shuail in a duet, “Lebanon.” Laila Iskandar was chosen by the United Nations to support an HIV awareness campaign. In 2007, she released the Gulf video song “Al-Salfa Ma Ma Fiha”, which earned her the title of “Best Gulf Singer” that year in a Dubai TV poll. A year later, she released a video song titled “Qader Ali Baaddi” in the Egyptian dialect, and in 2010, a Lebanese youth song alongside the Lebanese rap group “Militia,” titled “Bahbo,” and another single titled “One-Sided Love.” Recently, Laila released her new song, “Al-Ghabi,” composed by Fayez Al-Saeed and lyrics by Sultan Al-Majali. It is worth noting that Laila’s three video songs were directed by Layal Rajha.
