Director Ismail Abdel Hafez was born on March 15, 1941 in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. He is married and has a son and a daughter. Ismail obtained a Bachelor of Arts in the Department of Oriental Languages from Ain Shams University in 1963. He formed a duet with the writer Osama Anwar Okasha He worked as an assistant director on television from 1964-1969, then a drama director, then first director in 1970. He directed many films and television series, the most famous of which were the series Witness and Tears, and Nights of Dreaming. He was praised for many of his works, for which he won many awards. He is the father of the young actor Mohamed Abdel Hafez
