
Novelist and screenwriter, he wrote a number of films for cinema, such as “Photocopy,” “Gunshot,” and “A Man’s Stand.” He won a number of awards, such as the Best Screenplay at the Oran Film Festival for the film Photocopy, the Sawiris Award 2016 for the Best Screenplay Not Yet Produced, and the shortlist for the Sawiris Award Best Screenplay 2014 for the screenplay Photocopy. He wrote a number of short narrative films, such as “Ferdi” and “Don’t Touch the Eyebrow,” which won the El Gouna Golden Star for best short film, in addition to documentary films such as “Liberation 2011,” which won the UNESCO Prize from the Venice Film Festival, and best film at the Oslo Film Festival. His literary works achieved critical and popular success, such as his novels “The Cross of Moses” and “Publication Ban.”
