
She was born in Cairo in 1941 and graduated from the English Department at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University in 1962. She began her artistic career by joining the television theater groups at the end of 1962, after passing the admission competitions. Her first professional work was her participation in the “And Then the Sun Rises” tournament in 1962. Then, specifically in 1965, she joined the “Pocket Theater” troupe, in which she participated in two starring performances, before She joined the National Theater troupe in 1967, which is the troupe to which she has always been proud to belong, and therefore she also retained her membership until she reached the legal age for retirement. She traveled with her husband, the distinguished writer/Wahid Naqqash, to France, where she spent three years abroad with him (during the period from 1968 to 1971), only to return to Cairo immediately after death took him - with whom she has two sons, “Soha” and “Khaled,” which she resumed after her return. For Egypt, she worked in the “National Theater” troupe, where she participated in starring in more than ten important plays. She was also able to use her free time to translate some short stories and plays. One of the most important theatrical works that she translated was “The Labyrinth” by the international writer Fernando Arrabal, a play that was presented through the “Vanguard Theater” troupe in 1995. She passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012.
