An Egyptian director, screenwriter and producer, born in Cairo on October 28, 1947. She graduated from the French Language Department at the Faculty of Arts in 1970. She also studied history in the French capital, Paris. She began her artistic career in 1973, working as an assistant to Egyptian directors including Youssef Shaheen and Khairy Bishara, and directed her first short film (A Drop of Water) in 1979. She directed three feature films, namely (Concerto). Darb Saada) in 2000, (Beggars and Nobles) in 1991, based on a novel by Albert Kassiri, and (Violence and Sarcasm) in 2003. She died in 2015 at the age of 68 as a result of a heart attack.
