
Ahmed Deeb is a Palestinian filmmaker and photojournalist based in Istanbul. Originally from Gaza, he studied Radio and Television at Al-Aqsa University and has spent over a decade covering major political events, conflicts, and human rights issues across the Middle East and Europe. He is the recipient of several international awards for his short films and visual reporting. In 2016, he was nominated for the Emmy Awards, and in 2013, he won the UN Correspondents Association Award. In 2011, he was named the 3rd Best News Photographer by the Thomson Foundation. Deeb’s latest and most personal film, Farfour: A War Diary from Gaza, was co-directed from exile in Istanbul in close collaboration with a filmmaker on the ground in Gaza. His work has been published and broadcast by international media outlets including ARTE TV, Al Jazeera English, Euronews, RTL, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and AFP. As both a director and photographer, Deeb brings a deeply personal perspective to stories from the region, blending journalistic urgency with emotional intimacy.
